there were some issues with regard to two concurrent implementations. I
assume you read some exchanged emails, but James would be in a better
position to discuss this.

I must admit I did not follow what happened after, work seems to have
focused on James' implementation. Afaik, DaveM and Jamal proposed some
code, and James applied some of their ideas to mpls-linux
