it's ok:
mplayerxp -dvd 2 -xp -double

it's not:
mplayerxp -xp -double -dvd 2

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode_audio

The only difference is the order of parameters.

Could you send me please gdb's output?
Just start:
gdb mplayerxp
set args -xp -double -dvd 2
after signal print any info (for detail see
bugreports.html from mplayerhq.hu package)

It seems that you have some random bug.
Indeed, command line order doesn't affect anything.
If you have SMP then you should try latest CVS again
else I have no solution for you.
