Hi All, I am successfully using mplayer with live package to view the MPEG-4 H.263 stream. I went one step further and I have installed the mplayer plug-in from sourceforge. I have rebuild the package and installed the pluggins to the mozilla plug-in directory. When I start mozilla browser to view the video stream it prints in the gray rectangular area within mozilla: mplayer plug-in Buffering 0% - 0KB The mplayer itself works fine with the given URL using rtsp protocol but mozilla with the mplayer plugin does not. Does any body of you could give me some suggestions what could be wrong with the configuration. My working environemt is Scientific linux 3 (kernel 2.4.21-32.0.1.ELsmp Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.13) Gecko/20060418 Red Hat/1.7.13-1.1.3.1.SL3 I have mozilla-devl rpm installed on my computer. I have compiled mplayer plug-in as following: ./configure make make install I did not install gecko package. Hi Kevin, I have tested with my mozilla the two out of tree files: test.mpg and test.mov They are correctly displayed within my mozilla browser with the mplayer plug-in. The test.avi I was not able to download. As regards the URL address of the stream I would like to view it is so that the source is not connected to the global internet. Hi Kavin When use the mplayer to view the stream I use the rtsp protocol: mplayer rtsp://myvideo-1/mpeg4/2/media.amp When viewing the same stream from mozilla I use the http:// to the web page which contains the video. Maybe there is something with the rtsp protocol. I can not use rtsp straight from mozilla since it is said that it is not supported protocol. Your html should look like this <embed type='application/vnd.rn-realmedia' src='rtsp://myvideo-1/mpeg4/2/media.amp' width='320' height='200'> give that a try... BTW, there are ways to hook up the rtsp protocol to an app see http://dekorte.homeip.net/download/gnome-mplayer Kevin -- Get my public GnuPG key from http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x7D0BD5D1 |

Hi Kevin, Thanks for the suggestion. With the HTML entry you have suggested it does work well like with stand alone mplayer!!! It is however a pity that it does not work with the http connection the video box I use. The web page the server produces is somehow more complicated and uses java script. Many Many thanks for your hints.
