Hi all, I'm the author of Womp, a mini linux distribution which include mplayer and MozillaFirebird. ( http://womp.sourceforge.net/ ) For next release I'm trying to include mplayerplug-in. mplayer version is 0.90rc4 but I have also tried last release (1.0pre2) Note that everything works fine on my suse8.1, but if I try it in womp, it works, but as soon as I clic on the back button (that is mplayer is killed) it also kill the browser, saying mplayer received signal 15. any ideas? Ok, I've just find what happened, it was a problem with the generated command line for killing the plugins : in mplayerplug-in.c lines 977-979 sprintf(cmd, "ps -eaf | grep mplayer | awk '{print $2}' | xargs kill"); system(cmd); in my mini distrib I cannot use such a line, I have replaced it with : sprintf(cmd, "killall mplayer"); system(cmd); and everything works fine. Ben, Nope that won't do... I need the f option.. Also on the Sun machines I have this option works fine. I have Solaris 7, 8 & 9 machines and my ps is in /usr/bin/ps Kevin On Monday 10 November 2003 10:00 am, Benjamin Larsson wrote: > William Daniau wrote: > >Ok, I've just find what happened, it was a problem with the generated > > command line for killing the plugins : > > > >in mplayerplug-in.c lines 977-979 > >sprintf(cmd, > > "ps -eaf | grep mplayer | awk '{print $2}' | xargs kill"); > > I think this line may be causing some problems on other Unices. > > This is from a Solaris machine: > >ps -eaf > > ps: illegal option -- f > usage: ps [ -aceglnrSuUvwx ] [ -t term ] [ num ] > > Instead something like this should be used on Solaris. > > ps -a | grep mplayer | awk '{print $1}' | xargs kill > > > > MvH > Benjamin Larsson > > >system(cmd); > > > >in my mini distrib I cannot use such a line, I have replaced it with : > > > >sprintf(cmd, > > "killall mplayer"); > >system(cmd); > > > >and everything works fine. > > > >William. > > > >Selon William Daniau <wd...@fr...>: > >>Hi all, > >> > >>I'm the author of Womp, a mini linux distribution which include mplayer > >>and MozillaFirebird. > >>( http://womp.sourceforge.net/ ) > >>For next release I'm trying to include mplayerplug-in. > >>mplayer version is 0.90rc4 but I have also tried last release (1.0pre2) > >> > >>Note that everything works fine on my suse8.1, but if I try it in womp, > >>it works, but as soon as I clic on the back button (that is mplayer is > >>killed) it also kill the browser, saying mplayer received signal 15. > >> > >>any ideas? > >> > >>William. > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > >>------------------------------------------------------- > >>This SF.Net email sponsored by: ApacheCon 2003, > >>16-19 November in Las Vegas. William, Well that is ok, but the new generated command line is. sprintf(cmd, "ps -eaf | grep mplayer | grep 0x%x | awk '{print $2}' | xargs kill", This->window); That way only the current window being closed is killed. If you are only running one player stream killall is fine, but not with multiple streams. Also killall is not present on some unixes. On solaris the command is pkill.
