John, 1. Anon CVS is upto date, just checked it 2. Again, something I am looking at and I see the value, but not on a high priority. Also, I want to do it right and have not spent the time on seeing if the way I think/want it should/to work, will actually work. Think slider bar and MUTE and look at the slave interface. I'm not sure the slave interface supports mute, as I have to dig into the mplayer code. If you use kmix and enabled the system tray icon moving your mouse over the speaker and moving the wheel on the mouse adjusts the volume very rapidly, no dialogs to open or anything. I wish Windows had that feature. 3. Using the dialog has some issues (more with the internal structures of the plugin and threading than the dialog, a pause while the save dialog is up seems to be required) and perhaps I'll put it in sometime, but at this moment what is in there works ok, but is not completly correct in my opinion. 4. Animated Logo, I doubt this will ever happen unless someone else codes it up. (can't see how it be less CPU intensive than what we have now (fewer updates, but more data so it seems to be about even)). I'll look at reducing the amount of screen status, but to me it is all valuable data and don't wish for it to go. Buffering is the correct word in this case (Even Windows Media Player uses it) Buffering is used for a temporary copy and download is for something more permanent. So buffering stays. Messages that currently come out Buffering Connect* messages Playing Initializing Loading Media Might be a couple more, but there really aren't that many status messages. 5. The black background in fullscreen will go in when I can do it right and remove it when it is not full screen. I have an idea, but have not tried it yet. If you want to send a patch in, I'll review it and if it looks ok and works like I think it should then it will go in. If it is not accepted I'll tell you why and we can go from there.
