gecko-mediaplayer does indeed seem to cope with the first link below
Wonder what's up with the mplayer plugin that chokes.

Did a couple of minutes with this and it is quite odd, the plugin starts
up, and then something immediately closes it. No debug information is
output with debug level 1, so nothing obvious. It is not crashing since
if it did, it would take the browser with it.
So, since gecko-mediaplayer works and it is the app I'm supporting I
would prefer to fixed it with a 'works with newer code' closure.
