If you want to store the png in the ".so" file you can save the png in an included ".h" file as const guchar <variable> = "<hex representation of png file>";  and use gdk_pixbuf_new_from_data* to load the image data.  I don't know if the alpha transparency works without a canvas to draw it on but it might be worth a try.

That was actually the first thing I tried, but transparency
in xpm's doesn't look good. The best would of course be if
we could use a png image as logo, but since I have little
programming skills, I haven't got this working.
I tried using the function gdk_pixbuf_new_from_file, but
got errors when compiling. Maybe I'll give it another try.
The good thing about the xpm logo is that it is included in
the resulting mplayerplug-in.so. I don't know if this is
possible with a png image.
Haven't been into programming since I used Turbo Pascal in school :-)

Looks nice, but I would suggest setting it up to use alpha
transparencies and the normal background color instead if we're going to
change how the logo is done.

Hi, I've made a new logo for MPlayerplug-in.
You can have a preview of how it looks here:
http://www.sleepwinder.com/screenshot.png
As you can see, I also modified the code a bit, so the background
is black and the text is white.

This is of course just a suggestion, and I am aware that the
background color normally is based on which gtk theme you
are using. I think the new logo looks a bit more "professional".
I have an idea for a new one already, and I'll have it ready
in a couple of days.
Whether you want to use this or not, is up to you Kevin.
Comments and critics are welcome!
