Flash sites with trailers - not working

    mplayer CVS version dated 05/26/04

    mplayerplug-in 2.60 (--enable-<Media>=1 for all types) in $HOME/.mplayer/mplayerplug-in.conf.

    MM Flash version shows "file: libflashplayer.so Shockwave Flash 6.0 r81 in Mozilla"

    The only "flash" related recent thread I could find is this thread on dev mailing list:  "Re: some non working sites"

    Anyway, the following sites will not play the listed (or "hidden") film trailers:

    "::CONTROL ROOM::"

    (The above just jumps to the "schedule" page when right-clicking to click play  Fiddlling with the sites gadgets to start/stop change nothing.)

    "DOGVILLE || Official website ||"

    [This one *will* play the interview clips at the site, but not the film clips "hidden" in the opening graphic or pre-Welcome page.  It will play the audio portion, however.  (I have tried all size choices too.  I have also tried both reloading and restrated.  Right clicking only yields the MM "settings" option.  I also notice that within the playback window, the mouse is still detecting the urls that are "under" the window within the map of Dogville graphic.)

    I found nothing in DOCS or source infomation or Forums about Flash and mplayerplug-in so I do not know if it is supposed to work or not.

    I have noticed that more flash stuff that a site runs simultaneously [not that the "Control Room" has that problem], the more often difficulties will occur.  Is it helpful to run ESound [esd] in this case?

    Nevertheless, I had decent results with IFilm a few days ago.

      Heh.  No sooner do I get around to asking and I find there is a new release version of MM Flash for Linux/Mozilla[Netscape].

      Version 7,0,25,0  - released 05/26/04

      DownLoad - "Macromedia Flash Player Download Center"

      FAQ - "mozdev.org - plugindoc: faqs/flash"

      Well, upgrading to the new versions mentioned above fixed it.  Both sites now work quite well.  (That "Dogville" site has been impassable for ages [the film was released quite awhile ago].)

      I swear I had just checked for Flash updates on 05/26/04 too, but I guess I my timing was off.
