mplayerplug-in-2.45-rhl9.i386.rpm successfully installed, but it's neither listed in "about plugins" nor does it work.
I'm using RHL8.0, Mozilla 1.6, Mplayer1.0pre3. And I've placed in the plugins directory. PLZ help me!

did you also copy the mplayerplug-in.xpt into the mozilla/components directory?

Since you have RedHat 8 and Mozilla 1.6 and I'm not sure where you got Mozilla 1.6 you need to do the following

      cp /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ ~/.mozilla/plugins
      cp /usr/lib/mozilla/components/mplayerplug-in.xpt ~/.mozilla/plugins

      See if that works.

You also need to delete your $HOME/.mozilla/pluginreg.dat whenever you change or add anything plug-in related.  This will make Mozilla reread its registry.  (As I understand it, this is required also if you change your "mplayerplug-in.conf" file as well.  I would guess it also applies to "mplayerplug-in.types" too.)
