This is really a continuation of bug report #1538399.
I can't seem to attach a file to an existing bug. Here
is the attachment for that bug.
mplayerplug-in debug output

Yup, looks like the xv in a window problem that mplayer is
having.. Set you vo to x11 in mplayerplug-in and that should
fix the problem for now. Either that or try a newer mplayer.
I have opened an issue on the mplayer mailing list, but so
far no response.

Sorry to say, but this does not help the problem at all.
:^( I am using the latest mplayer release
[noky@papa ~]$ mplayer --version
MPlayer 1.0pre8-rpm.livna.org-4.1.1 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
Please set the vo in mplayerplug-in.conf to x11 and re-run
echo "vo=x11" >> ~/.mplayer/mplayerplug-in.conf
Can this bug be closed?
Sorry for the delay. Yes, your workaround fixes the
problem, so I changed the resolution to "works for me". I
had changed my .mplayer/config file at first, but then I
realized this did not affect the plugin. So, I changed
.mplayer/mplayerplug-in.conf and this did the trick. Sorry,
I did not read your original post thoroughly enough; you did
tell me the correct config file to change.
So, if this is an mplayer bug, is there a reference to the
bug id so I can follow it in mplayer's bug tracking system?
Thanks so much for all your hard work on this plugin!
There is no tracking bug for mplayer (I don't think they use
a bug tracker). I have submitted a bug to the devel mailing
list, but the email was ignored. So I would guess that no
one at the mplayer project is interested in fixing it.
I'm going to close this since it is a config issue.
