I am going out of my mind.  I am a new user, therefore I need very simple terms.  For two days I have been trying to view an avi movie.  I have tried everything possible, that I can think of.  Maybe it's something as stupid as not saving my movie, I don't know.  I have a moc osx and have tried VLC., divx doctor, mplayer, quick time, etc.  It seems like the movie may be playing in mplayer, as it says it is playing and the time is running, however all I see is a black screen with no sound.  I am beginning to get very frustrated and am ready to give up on movies altogether other than mpegs.  Could someone please give me specific details as to what I might be able to do.  Thank- you for your time.

Hi and thank-you for quick response.  Here are my answers: Imac, version-macosx10.2.8, mplayer 0sx2.
When I click on console, a console log comes up, I'm not quit sure what I am suppose to do with it, I have never gone there before.  I am a brand new user and need to be spoon fed, sorry.  Maybe you could tell me exactly how to "start console", do you mean open it or just click on it and then the player, I need a little more info., as I don't want to screw things up.  Don't you be laughing now!! Thank-you.

just open console with logs (you can click on clean button)
then open mplayer and play your movie and then you can Quit mplayer.
In console is now mplayer log (start with MPlayer dev-CVS-031027-15:25-3.1 (C) 2000-2003 MPlayer Team
AltiVec found) this copy to clipboard and send
I hope now it is clear

I'm pretty sure I did what you asked, my log stated:frame too small (12672<202752) Wrong format.  Just too be sure about things I will try to view another movie.  In the mean time I received Panther for my birthday, and am going to install it, I hope this doesn't make a difference with things.  Thanks, I will let you know what goes on with the new movie.
