Greetings.
I have used MPlayer on my 3 XP laptops for years.
Until this weekend I was using build 33574 (P4 2xs and 486 1x).
I just updated to 34118.
Previously MPlayer had a normal / non-fullscreen window
with a title of MPlayer: ... and a window class of MPlayer - The Movie Player.
Previously MPlayer had a fullscreen window
with a title of MPlayer: ... and a window class of MPlayer - Fullscreen.
Now MPlayer no longer has the distictive window class when in Fullscreen.
The MPlayer window title & class are always MPlayer: ... MPlayer - The Movie Player.
I hope to the fullscreen window class MPlayer - Fullscreen restored!

    Greetings.
I just started using MPlayer 34401.
Previously MPlayer (up to at least 33574) had a normal / non-fullscreen window
with a title of MPlayer: ... and a window class of MPlayer - The Movie Player.
Previously MPlayer (up to at least 33574) had a fullscreen window
with a title of MPlayer: ... and a window class of MPlayer - Fullscreen.
Now MPlayer no longer has the distictive window class when in Fullscreen.
The MPlayer window title & class are always MPlayer: ... MPlayer - The Movie Player.
I hope to see the fullscreen window class MPlayer - Fullscreen restored!

I would say no chance. Using a different window class means using a completely different window.
There are some issues with handling two different windows and switching between them, and thus it only ever worked with -vo directx.
Since the directx vo is for better or worse forced on its way out (due to it working badly on Vista and later) having completely separate code for it is too much maintenance effort.
Btw. if you mention _why_ this is important to you, you'd at least have a (admittedly small) chance that someone might suggest a different solution to your problem.
