#3 Unresolved Symbols

I am a newbie and probably making a simple error.
After following the instructions on the download and
installation page:

tar xvfz mpio-0.7.0.tar.gz
cd mpio-0.7.0
./configure --prefix=/usr/local
make
make install
depmod

I get this error:
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/kernel/drivers/usb/mpio

I am running a new Mandrake 9.0 Installation that has
been updated with all the patches I could find. Thanks
