Hi,

i record MPEG 2 streams with my Hauppauge PVR350 on
Linux with the ivtv driver.

mpgtx -i tst.mpg tells me:
schleim:/rest/tmp # mpgtx -i tst.mpg
warning: couldn't find any valid system header. I'm
continuing anyway
tst.mpg

......

No other program complains about the MPEG file(s).

I can split the resulting file:
mpgtx -3 tst.mpg

But joining it does not work at all:

schleim:/rest/tmp # mpgtx -j -o out.mpg chunk-1.mpg
chunk-2.mpg chunk-3.mpg
mmm, this file does not start with a pack, offset: 0
use the desperate_mode switch as the first option -X to
search for a header in the whole file!
if you want to force the operation. May yield to an
endless loop if no valid header is found!

Specified files are not compatible, if you still want
to join them use --force switch

Also, --force does not lead to success.

mpgtx can split the file, nut can't join the result.
Is this a bug?

Also, the time stamps don't look jumping to me. Is
this a bug?

I can send you an example file (1.3 Mb) that i can't
upload at the moment.

Best regards,
Torsten (tmohr@s.netic.de).
