Please have a go and report back about corner cases. Also, you mentioned a bookmarking system with multiple different bookmarks in there, right? That would simply mean giving conplay an additonal parameter for the name of the playlist file; or the full path of it as first parameter instead of the directory. Anyhow, this logic is in the script, not in mpg123. And even if you don't like Perl, that script is much more easy to hack on than mpg123 itself. Regarding "where should I install it" ... it is a question if we should start installing some of the more useful scripts and auxilliary programs from the mpg123 sources, and then, under which name.
