I tried to send this e-mail to
xeonfusion@users.sourceforge.net, but it failed twice. I
can't find any other way to contact anyone apart from
posting it like this.

Hello John George K.,

First of all, I would like to thank you for this sublime
program, I have been searching for a program like this
for a long time (and now I don't understand why,
because it was very easy to find at download.com). I
can't stand file names with a lot of underscores and
lowercases, and because I have an iPod (and because
I'm a perfectionist) I always want the information in the
ID3v2 tag to be right, and no information in the ID3v1
tag.
Finally I've found a program which allows me to choose
different separators for quick file renaming (in
MusicMatch Jukebox I couldn't), and which was smart
(and customizable) in reading information from the file
name for the tag. THANK YOU. Saved me a lot of time
already.
But: there was a review on download.com that said
something like: "hey, I used the program and suddenly
every file had the same name in the tag!" When I used
the program, I found out that he must have accidentally
checked some checkboxes like filename when mass-
renaming, and I hoped it wouldn't happen to me.

Unfortunately, it did. I was in a hurry, and I forgot to
look to the checkboxes. I spent an hour re-renaming the
files, I was glad the program was so smart in taking info
from the file names.
I was wondering: did you notice this could be a
problem? It's not really a bug, I think it will be okay if all
checkboxes will automatically become unchecked when
selecting multiple files or something.

Also I would like to suggest to separate the
functions 'write tags' and 'rename files', because I'm
scared I will press the wrong button one time. The
program doesn't ask for confirmation when deleting a lot
of tags or before renaming a massive load of files. I
tested the 30 day trial for Tag&Rename 3.1.6, and that
program had some handy features compared to Mp3 Tag
Tools, e.g. you can ask for a preview window before
renaming files (MusicMatch also has it, you always pass
a preview window comparing the new and old file names
before renaming), and it has renaming files and tags
separated. You probably already know that program,
and I would prefer an interface like that.

Something that would be very helpful (I don't know if it
is possible), is an undo-button. I think it will happen
many times that people do something that they didn't
plan to do.

I had some problems with Correct Case under 'Edit', until
I found out there was another Correct Case Of Tags
under 'Tools'. What does the one under Edit do?

While renaming once, I found the handy feature for also
looking to the name of the folder the files are in. But
why can I change the format when looking to filenames
but not when looking to directory? I hope this is
because the feature is under development?

One time I was opening a directory with a lot of files,
and then I changed my mind. I wanted to open another
directory and tried to stop the program from searching
any longer. To do so I just clicked 'Refresh List', and
then Windows said the program didn't respond.

The program seems to have problems with deleting
Comments. Many times the comments of the files just
didn't change, and with one specific album it got very
weird codes as comments, like '19EFFCB'. After that, I
even couldn't manage to delete the comment using
Winamp. Well, I managed to delete it eventually,
because I found out I could delete it anyway using
Winamp, by copying the info to ID3v1, deleting ID3v2,
applying changes, copying to ID3v2 again and deleting
ID3v1. So I did it that way using Mp3 Tag Tools, and it
worked. But I don't really like that way, what's the
reason it sometimes can't change comments?

Sometimes I would like to compare the ID3v1 and ID3v2
fast by switching between them. But then the columns
aren't aligned in the same way, because I changed sizes
in ID3v2 for example. Is it possible to make a feature to
synchronize the look of ID3v1 and ID3v2 automatically?

Well, I think that is it for now, I hope I did tell you
something new and that I did help with my opinion.
Amazing, that you can keep this program for free. I
hope it gets a lot of users, I think this is a program a lot
of people are looking for. I already wrote a review on
download.com as -----DASH-----. Hopefully a new
version will be released, is it possible to receive a
message/e-mail when that happens?

Thank you very much and good luck,

Emile van Wijk
