I ran MP3Gain on a mp3 audio file and a pop-up appeared:
* 1 error during processing. View Error Log?
*
So, I clicked {Yes} and then Notepad popped-up the error:
* Cannot find the C:\Program Files (x86)\MP3Gain\MP3GainGUIErrors.log file
* Do you want to create a new file?
So, I clicked {Yes}
Another Notepad pop-up error appeared:
* Cannot find the C:\Program Files (x86)\MP3Gain\MP3GainGUIErrors.log file
So I clicked {OK}
It turns-out that the folder:
* C:\Program Files (x86)\MP3Gain\
... is read only and Windows 11 does not appear to allow me to change that. Of course, since this is where the application resides, it is logical that it is read-only. Perhaps another directory location would be more appropriate for log files?
My installation is v1.3.4 (back end (mp3gain.exe) v1.4.6
What is the work around? Is there a newer release?
~~
Yeah, the application folder is not the proper place to save log files. Probably wasn't the ideal location even back in 2001 when I wrote it, but back then at least it worked :)
Just pick another directory, doesn't matter which one.
