MAN TRADITIONS. NO. CLIX. _The Treasure at Soest._ "In the time of the
Thirty Years' war, there was to be seen standing not far from the town
of Soest, in Westphalia, an old ruin, of which the tradition ran that
there was an iron trunk there, full of money, kept by a black dog and a
