There is no technical reason for not being able to do it, at
least for MoviX2 (which has an X display).
However, the developers don't have access to Apple hardware
so they can't do it themselves.
For doing it, one needs to: find a CD-ROM compatible
bootloader for Macintosh; compile Linux for that hardware;
compile MPlayer for that hardware; possibly change PCisms
(e.g. /dev/ide/hd etc.) in the supporting scripts etc.

It would be great for those on OS9. There is no divxplayer that is good in
OS9.
