XBMC has never automatically found any of my trailers. I manually changed the tag in one file to show the local trailer file name and path and it imported it fine. I don't know if the reason that XBMC isn't importing any of my trailers automatically might be because they are in MOV format and my movies are either MKV or AVI? Or could it be because my movies have completely different names to my trailers? My trailers are named moviename.mov but the movie names are random.

one way to put it would be that the tag is only for non-local trailers

Sorry, that should read "moviename-trailer.mov".
