I'm wondering if there are any fellow V3X owners who have tried using
the flasher utility? I would first like to add/confirm that it worked
100% with my original V3 - no problems.
I had then worked up the courage to try it on my primary phone, a V3X.
The utility did not recognize the phone, and after examining the source
I found that the expected device's pid is hardcoded as 0x4903 (line 95,
2nd param of p2k_findDevice in flasher.c). I changed this to what
appears to be the proper pid when the phone is in flash mode (0x1801).
The phone is now recognized and the utility begins sending the new
firmware, beginning with the bootloader which fails upon reaching 100%
(Critical error 84). I would like to note, however, the files I have
attempted to flash the phone with are MonsterPacks that were originally
in .sbf format that I have opened in Flash & Backup (Win.) and saved in
.shx format to use with flasher (I believe I remember having problems
flashing phones in Windows doing this, when using RSD to flash these
converted files). I intend to try to find a firmware file that was
produced originally as an .shx to try again; just wanted to know if
anyone else has tried and has a success story.
