Was looking into my DVR machine crashes and noticed I changed the pallet
around a few times for testing.. started with "YU12", then went to
"YUYV", now trying "YU12" again (which is what I think my original
I believe my crashes may have something to do with a saturated PCI bus..
don't really know. But was wondering which pallet is the best to use for
a BT878 card? Is there a native BT878 pallet? Does it really matter? I
did try some others which resulted in an immediate crash
Here is some output from the logs using both pallets..
Jul 9 13:48:00 video motion.3.2.12: Using palette YUYV (720x480)
bytesperlines 1440 sizeimage 691200 colorspace 00000000
Jul 9 16:52:26 video motion.3.2.12: Using palette YU12 (720x480)
bytesperlines 720 sizeimage 518400 colorspace 00000000
It looks like YU12 results in a smaller 'sizeimage' whatever that means.
If there is really no difference to motion, would using a pallet with a
smaller sizeimage help lower bandwidth on the bus?
I appreciate any help. Thanks.
