[Motion-user] timeout on connect()

I am using motion 3.2.3-1 on an Debian Sarge Server.
I compile it, because the .deb package shows this error when I try to
install it:

dpkg-deb (subprocess): short read in buffer_copy (failed to write to
pipe in copy)
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste returned error exit status 2
dpkg: error processing motion_3.2.3-1_i386.deb (--install):
 short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/bin/motion')
Errors were encountered while processing:
 motion_3.2.3-1_i386.deb

I have got four dlink 900 ip cameras. My problem is that two cameras
gives this error:

[1] timeout on connect()
[1] re-opening camera (non-streaming)
[1] Error capturing first image
[1] Thread finishing...

All the thread are using a .conf like this:

netcam_url http://192.168.1.101/image.jpg
netcam_userpass admin:password

The IP and the user/passwords are corrects, because I can access all the
cameras with firefox.

I don't find information about the "timeout on connect" error. Can you
help me?

I assume from what you have said that two of the four cameras are working
satisfactorily.  Motion treats all of the four exactly the same, so the m=
ost
likely problem is with the configuration for the two which are giving tro=
uble.

The message "timeout on connect()" shows that Motion has tried to contact=
 the
IP address given in the configuration, but there has been no response for=
 10
seconds.

Carefully compare the configuration parameter "netcam_url" on the two thr=
eads
which are not working with those which do work.  Try configuring a single
camera, and try each of the IP addresses with that single-camera
configuration.  If you are unable to resolve the problem, please provide =
all
four thread configuration files to help find where the trouble is.

I think the problem is that the file is corrupted , don't know why .
the correct md5sum is:

428d0b113f48ddc6003bb6657b7805f5  motion_3.2.3-1_i386.deb

It seems the upload to Sourceforge of the deb went wrong. 200 k missing.

I have removed the bad file and uploaded a new one and verified it.
