I've not got ffmpeg installed.

As I understand it you only need it if you are going to write out movies
using motion (or create the afterwards).

Since I'm not, I've not got it installed.  When I compile motion it says
it can't find it and doesn't worry about those options..

I'm using Fedora 4 with yum upgrades from livna
and am using ffmpeg-0.4.9-10_cvs20050612
and motion-3.2.3 that I compiled with adding 
-ldc1394_control to the libs in the Makefile otherwise
I get errors that dc1934 controls are missing. I'm
having problems when I enable mpeg it give the error 

[mpeg4 @ 0x5e8750]only YUV420 is supported
[1] avcodec_open - could not open codec: Success
Segmentation fault

I've seen the error elsewhere in the mailing list but
the changes made already exist in 3.2.3 so I'm a
little stuck.

I'd like to setup a webcam but I guess I need ffmpeg
working proper first right?
