I've posted my Ubuntu Mini project on GitHub https://github.com/sgjava/ubuntu-mini that will let you build any version of Ubuntu on the RK3066 dual core ARM mini PCs. A lot of the ARM based distributions are not based on LTS versions of Ubuntu. I've tested Ubuntu 12.04 and Ubuntu 14.04. Rolling your own lets you know exactly what's in the distribution.

I've included instructions of how to build various kernels or you can use the pre-built ones. This will let you run Motion or any other software on Ubuntu ARM. I'm working on the RK3188 quad core kernels now, but in essence you be able to use this to run hand rolled Ubuntu on any ARM based platform.
