This version simplifies the gui by adding a configuration for CW center frequency replacing the slider in the FFT view. In addition, ALSA audio support has been added.
The migration to Subversion is complete, CVS has been de-activated.
The Subversion version control system has been activated for morse2txt.
After a long break, a new version has been released. See the ChaneLog for details.
Added pre-packaged RPM, built on a Fedora Core 5 Linux system.
Added the ability to display Morse timing statistics while decoding. This feature will enables those learning to send Morse a way to measure their accuracy.
Fixed an application lock up condition which could occur when starting morse decoding with a busy audio device.
Fixed a small memory leak if Start button is pressed, a few thousand times, while morse threads are running. Fixed an initial busy and then freed audio device from prohibiting a re-start of morse code decoding. Added audio abstraction layer which is a stepping stone for ALSA support. Also a stepping stone for audio loopback, so morse2txt can be used or an audio dsp filter.
More improvements to noise immunity. Morse2txt
now allows user to configure FIR filter, improved AGC.
FIR filter re-computes new center frequency when decoded
frequency selected is changed. Fixed all known bugs.
More improvements to noise immunity added. Morse2txt
now FIR filters the analog data prior to building FFT
packets. In addition, these FFT packet amplitudes are
stored and deglithced with a rolling median filter. The FIR
filter parameters are fixed for now (500Hz to 1500Hz
Bandpass with 32 taps). Next release will allow user
control of FIR filter.
Improved noise immunity of morse decoding. Fixed a locked application condition when starting morse decoder when audio device is busy. Refactored morse algorithm, for additional planned noise immunity improvements. Now allow the GtkCurve to shrink. Removed noise correction work arounds from the GUI.
This is the first release of morse2txt on Sourceforge.
After being a dormant project for nearly two years, it was resurected to evaluate a commercial structured analysis software design tool. In the process, morse2txt was refactored, and ported from GTK/Gnome 1.2 to GTK+/Gnome 2.0. Subsequently, released to Sourceforge.
Morse2txt was designed to translate Morse code audio tones into readable text.... read more
