Yeah, this is bad news. In order to continue to provide this service I'm gonna have to pay $100/mo to X. We got a few months of grace period before they dropped the hammer. Darn. I can't blame them for wanting to keep their company going. I can't afford to keep X/Twitter capability in Morse News. Let me see if I can appeal to their sense of community ha ha ha.

Richard -- Based on your report, I think it's OK to announce 5.2. I'll take my chances that someone will find some subtle timing issue, but I've tried to design this so its timing is consistent and protect against race conditions. Thanks for the test!!

Hi Bob, I have V5.2 installed and have been keying at 25 WPM in Ultimatic using my < and > cusor keys programmed on my Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 gaming keyboard on my laptop. The keyer is working fine, but using the mechanical keys on my keyboard is not ideal, so I can stuff up easily at that speed. I will sort out my my USB/Serial interace for use with one of my Capacitive-Touch keys and I feel sure it will work great that way. Thank you! Richard G4WKW.

You're most welcome Richard. I have completed the addition of Ultimatic... I think! Before updating the main project web site for this new version, might I ask you to test ultimatic in this release? It's V5.2 in the files section.

Hi Bob. Thank you so much for your work on Ultimatic mode. I almost exclusively use this mode, either via my own Arduino-based keyer, or via a "Key Converter" circuit that I have developed that I can use with an IAMBIC keyer built into a radio to use either Ultimatic, or emulated Single Paddle mode.

I tested this with a Twitter direct message, as well as an RSS feed, both with the accented characters. I can't reproduce the problem. They come through in morse and on the crawler. Closing this ancient feature request.

I just went to do this and discovered that I already had these and more in the tables! See the source code for morse.cs the Dictionary _iMorse starting at line 214. Now I need to see if somehow they are filtered out in the newsreader.

Wow, I found it. Grab 5.0.1 (just published). Long story but the behavior of the DirectX Sound API had quirk that under some conditions measuring the current position in the playing sound buffer can return bad position. Now I stop pley, measure, jump to the end, then start play. Amazingly, there is no detectable break in the sine-wave of the tone. This should end this spooky problem.

Upon checking this on a Windows 10 system (my development system) as well as a Windows 11 system here, the feed works fine. The error occurs only on Windows 7. I can't really support W7. I'm guessing that the specific TLS1.2 encryption algorithm that weather.gc.ca is newer than the last W7 update. Closing this ticket.

Docs corrected and enhanced, and they are now available on the project website. Will be in the next release at which time I will close this ticket.

More 5.0 -- .NET 6 for 'core' versions (about time!), full User credentials for TwitterAPI for all apps cwrss, locrss, now direct messages work again. This turned out to be an extensive update internally.
