This is nothing we can change. Ask sf.net guys to fix the
issue.

A normal risk when using nightly builds. You (and everyone else)
should be aware of this. Anyway... we try to do your best it doesn't
fuck up your system at least ;) if some prefs, settings or other stuff
changes it's *normal*. It's impossible to keep compatibility with all
old configs out there all the time. Ambient would probably 5%
smaller if we didn't had to do this at all ;)

The stuff is not complete, hence not documented yet. Be sure there
will be a useful readme (or even better doc) coming with the release
version. Anyway, def_blah for mimetypes is gone at it was silly to
maintain together with the new mimetype system.
If you want to have an def icon for lha you create in your deficon path:
application/lha.info
if you want to have one for zip:
application/zip.info
for text files:
text/plain.info
and so on. I guess you'll get the idea ;) For already defined
mimetypes you can read recognition.db which comes with archive.
If you want a default icon for one of the mime classes you copy
default.info (AFAIR) to the directories, e.g.
image/default.info
text/default.info
etc.
If a type doesn't have an own def icon it would try to find
default for class first before it falls back to def_project.info.
Recognition.db not complete yet, I'm aware of this. But it's not
too smart to make big bunches of custom rules now as they could
soon become obsolete or incompatible (as different type descriptors
are used) by recognition.db updates and action editor handling. If you
desperately need certain types added, let me know (either here on
list, drop a mail private or catch me on the devel channel on irc).
(yes, i also plan to add proper emulator roms recognition for
bladerunner ;)
regards,
