No, the two don't have anything to do with each other. So, question the first: Can anyone think of a good way to slim a Morphix derivative down some? I am trying to cram as much useful stuff as possible on a 200M CD - got the basics covered but there are a few things I would really like but can't fit on the CD right now. I noticed that all the drivers for xorg take up a huge amount of space - is there a way to save some space there and still be compatible across most systems? I don't need fancy X capabilities - mostly I use it to run wireshark & ettercap in graphical mode.=20 And question the second: Is there a way to run the X session in Morphix as root by default? I tried passing 'username=3Droot' as a kernel parameter, but it appears that at some point, Morphix tries to create a new user named root - and that doesn't work out too well. I got a bit confused trying to figure out where exactly that kernel parameter is used; and help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Juergen |
