Hi there morphers! As you already might know, I'm playing with morphix again, which is very cool and entertaining. I am currently trying to create a morph directed do graphics and multimedia, as well as to let people know about some nice games (such as tremulous, E.T. and others). I've installed and successfully configured Enlightenment E-17 (and some of it's applications) and it's very cool! I have a little doubt regarding kernel and 3D Acceleration. Please forgive me if it's a stupid question, but I've already searched about the topic for many times and got only some "File not found", "Page has moved" and "Page unavaiable" messages. So I decided to ask you guys. The situation is: I'm very interested in using a custom kernel with nvidia and ati drivers available in my morph, as these packages come with Debian SID (I've always used SID in my desktop and I have the nvidia driver and source configured and working pretty well). After browsing the Internet I found an article "How to replace a Morphix kernel with a custom one" at http://www.geocities.com/g1powermac/kernel.html The author says that it can only be made with 2.4 kernels, as 2.6 does not support translucency. If it's so, then how can "MorphixBase-0.5-pre6.iso" use 2.6 kernel ? What should I do ? The question is: Is it possible what I'm trying to do ? Do you guys have any link or file that can send my to enlight my ideas ? Any suggestions will be very appreciated. Thank you Gabriel. |
