Q: Will you provide a way to install this distribution to a hdd or ssd?

A: No. MorpheusArch Linux will remain a live distribution to be used for data recovery and Linux diagnostics. MorpheusArch is not intended to be used as an everyday OS. It is a very focused operating system aimed at repairing broken installations, broken partitions and recovering data without needing an internet connection.

Q: Can others fork your project and make it installable?

A: Yes they can, they just have to follow the Arch Linux trademark guidelines and make it legally distinct from MorpheusArch Linux as well stating that MorpheusArch offers no support for MorpheusArch derivatives.

Q: Why do you not have this certain package installed?

A: Possibly because I haven't heard of it or don't know the usefulness of it. You can use the suggestion box page of the wiki to suggest packages to be installed.

Q: How do I recover data?

A: Refer to the MorpheusArch Linux documentation here: https://github.com/MorpheusArch/morpheusarchdocs/blob/master/MorpheusArchDocumentation-converted.pdf for using specific packages such as ddrescue please refer to their specific documentation. And remember you can enter commands like man ddrescue etc to find out more about each specific package.

Q: Can you guarentee 100% of my files will be recovered?

A: No, but its possible you can recover 100% of them.

Q: What percentage can you guarentee then?

A: 0 - 100% I cannot guarentee any of the files will be recovered but the packages provided aim to recover the most.

Q: How do I help the MorpheusArch Linux project?

A: Bug reports. Honestly these help immensely make sure it is an issue specifically with MorpheusArch Linux however such as:

  • Creating the ISO to USB / DVD
  • SystemD error messages
  • LinDiag Issues
  • etc

I'm also looking for suggestions and ideas on how to improve LinDiag and will at least look at your pull requests on the LinDiag github
https://github.com/MorpheusArch/LinDiag

Q: I can't code what else can I do to help?

A: Our documentation is lacking and only in English. If you can add to the documentation or help translate it that would also be appreciated.
