The first implementatio of PNP is finished now.
Even though it wasn't planned so in the first place, the implementation is single-source compatible Windows 32bit AND Linux.
The source, the Linux and Windows -Client and Server have been released.

As mpcn-o file names will contain the complete address of the server (including the port number if it differs from the default mpcn-o port) the PortName Protocol was introduced which (in combination with a PortName Server) will allow users to use plain text instead of remembering a port number (whereas using a port number is possible as well).
As this might be useful for other purposes as well, it won't just be a part of mpcn-o but rather be a small project of its own being integrated into the main project.... read more
