Yes, web files can be stored on MooseFS. Just remember it would not be a
load balancer solution. If you prepare for heavy load, you'll still have to
have several web servers and MooseFS will be a very convenient place to
store the files just in one place and not having to care about backups or
replications.
Performance should not be affected (of course, it depends how heavy load
you'll have). And the caching mechanism for clients (which we keep talking
already for a while) would be available soon for beta testing.
