In my (little) experience, the switch from CentOS to Alma/Rocky works fine, I did a couple of tests because I was intrigued (I didn't have any CentOS 8 production machine at the time). It's basically changing where the mirrors point and doing dnf update/distro- sync. > I'd also like to do this just so I've experience doing it in the event of an > emergency (like when the master's OS has to be reloaded due to the OS disk > failing). That depends on your MFS configs and your partitioning setup. If you didn't modify MFS configs you should backup /etc/mfs and /var/lib/mfs and probably /etc/fstab (I would backup the entire /etc directory just in case). If you have /var/lib/mfs in a separate disk/partition you don't need a backup, as you can skip formatting it during reinstall, but it is a good practice nonetheless. > Thanks, > David > > Sent with ProtonMail Secure Email. > > ------- Original Message ------- > > On Monday, March 7th, 2022 at 7:44 PM, Ricardo J.
