Hi.
Do you have the same error when you creating file?
If yes - check your firewall. Chceck if you have open port 9422 on all
chunkservers.
If no - check /etc/mfs/mfsexports.cfg entries

By the way - this ports should be open on:

mfsmaster:
MATOML_LISTEN_PORT = 9419
MATOCS_LISTEN_PORT = 9420
MATOCL_LISTEN_PORT = 9421

chunkserver:
CSSERV_LISTEN_PORT = 9422
