[MooseFS-Users] Open file resource leak in mfsmaster?

Running moosefs-pro-master-2.0.43 on RedHat RHEL6, we've observed an
mfsmaster crash related to its open file limit.  The syslog entry is:

mfsmaster[5732]: main master server module: accept error: EMFILE (Too many open files)

...and the other mfsmaster logs:

mfsmaster[5734]: connection with MASTER-SYNC(1.2.3.4) has been closed by peer

Now, since the file limit is hardcoded in the source (at least in the
community edition) to 4096, I guess it's not all that easily changeable
by me.

Could this be a resource leak bug?  Is it known?  Would upgrading help?
