[Moosefs-users] NFS export of MFS?

How does one NFS export an MFS file system on Linux? I add the requisite 
line to /etc/exports on the MFS master (and I _am_ using fsid), showmounts 
displays the proper export, but I get this message in the log from mountd 
when a client attempts to mount the file system:

 	possibly unsupported filesystem or fsid= required

I have seen posts from others claiming to be able to do this.
