Could you please give more details about your MFS configuration? *For example*, if all files have at least goal 2 (this means you have at least two chunk servers) and all files are good (check in MFS.cgi), you may shutdown the chunk server "foobar" as you've said. You should move the disks and server as soon as possible. Please note this isn't the safest method to move chunk server. Actually I used this way for one of my MFS setups, but I don't recommend it :D Please note, when moving a chunk server, all MFS configuration and variant files (/var/lib/mfs/) should be moved to new server.
