In the source tree you will see a directory named "debian": and you
can simply build your package by the tool "dpkg-buildpackage" (Cf.
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/maint-guide/build.en.html).

The directory /var/lib/mfs and its files should belong to the user
"mfs" and the group "mfs".
