Have you some specific error message to keep in consideration? Maybe
could be a simple permission problem or some bad bug ;)

On my setup I haven't got any MooseFS-related problem, can you try out
some test on a plain filesystem mount?

Maybe on the MooseFS mailing list someone else can give good advices
than me alone.
