It seems you can use KVM/Xen + Kemari (see http://www.osrg.net/kemari/ and
http://wiki.qemu.org/Features/FaultTolerance), and get the same kind of
fault tolerance infrastructure... for free.
If someone has ever tried, I'd be really happy to read about his
experience...
