Oh, why do you stop mfsmaster? You would unmount all MFS disks before stopping mfsmaster. See more at
	http://www.moosefs.org/reference-guide.html#moosefs-maintenance

To solve your problem (while the master was stopped), you would unmount all MFS disks.
