Yes, you run out of memory on the master server. You probably work on a 32-bit? Please switch to 64-bit.

Looks like the answer is in the first line… Is your mfsmaster ram+swap full ? See dmesg to find if OOM killer triggered. Do you run x86_64 ?
Oh, and update your centos to 5.5 !
