* I tried it on secondary cluster in ext4 and btrfs, for 3 months ok, failed 
after I could not find the reason, surely xfs can be used if supported by the 
kernel.

* Safety is an issue of stability of the file system, ext3 is stable xfs is 
also stable, I prefer ext3.
