monoEdit / News: Recent posts

The wait is almost over. I've been busy for a long time and haven't had time to develop a new version of monoEdit but I've decided to rebuild the script completely and hopefully keep releasing new versions on a regular database with improved features.

There were a few issues with version 1.31, so an updated version with several new features including the ability to move files from directory to directory has been included.

Change list is as follows:

- Added ability to move files
- Added support for viewing images
- Fixed previewing and added iframe support
- Fixed file creation bug
- Improved path finding behaviour
- Modified method of displaying PHP information
- Removed file deletion from main menu (this can be done from the file viewing page and when editing files)

I am very pleased to announce that the new version of monoEdit, 1.31, is to be released on Sunday, 22nd August 2004.

The release of 1.3 was decidedly scrapped due to a few issues so it will not be publically released. Instead, 1.31 is to be the second instalment of the script and packs many enhancements over 1.2.

- Fixed bug whereby textareas tampered with script when editing files

We're into June now and 1.3 is yet to be released but it's on the way.

Recently implemented has been integrated password security as some users were experiencing difficulties when using the standard gateway password method, i.e. didn't seem to work on Windows systems.

A backup, undo changes and a recycle bin will probably be saved for a later version of the script, along with formatting options.

A lot of people have found monoEdit useful in the time it has been available. The next version of monoEdit (1.3) is under development and is due to be released very shortly.

The initial release of version 1.2 has now been released. It allows the edit, creation and deletion of files in a given directory and currently uses just one file to function.
