Q: How to start using monitoring proxy?
A: Download virtual appliance, deploy it, log in to server console as root and setup networking. When networking is ready try ping from your workstation and if successful use web browser and go to http://<your.ip>

Q: What are default credentials into system?
A: Username: root Password: Passw0rd.
Please note, that there is the symbol dot (".") at the end of password

Q: I can see home page of monitoring proxy but what else?
A: Look at quick video introduction <TBD -="" link="" to="" www.youtube.com=""> of monitoring proxy usage.

Q: Virtual Appliance is overloaded from CPU perspective. How to improve it?
A: That's most probably because intensive usage of VMware vCLI requests. VMware vCLI connector is not designed for intensive monitoring of hundreds virtual machines. It can be used for several ESX hosts monitoring and maximally several tens of virtual machines. That's because of perl SDK usage. We are considering some improvements in this area. So right now you have two choices. You can do scale-up by increasing number of vCPUs in virtual machine or leverage better physical hardware. Another possibility is to do scale-out by deploying more virtual appliances (monitoring proxies) and somehow load balance monitoring requests.

Q: Monitoring proxy looks nice but I need another connector for system not implemented by monitoring proxy. Can you prepare another connectors?
A: Yes, We can. However we need to analyze specific requirements, validate if and how we are able to implement it and finally we need access to the system for connector development. So for instance, if someone want to monitor EMC Storage, NetApp filer or CISCO UCS we are able to develop special connectors leveraging special CLI or API. However because it is all about time there is big chance you will be asked to donate our project. You have to accept that even you donate us the new connector will be available for everybody.
