Mondrian 2.2 and Pentaho Cube Designer Released

Mondrian 2.2RC1 is now available for download! The release includes a new Pentaho Cube Designer, as well as numerous performance and scalability enhancements.

Pentaho Cube Designer allows administrators to quickly design and deploy OLAP applications. Its wizard-driven, graphical user interface walks administrators through the steps of connecting to relational data sources, defining analytical dimensions, and identifying measures or “facts” for analysis.

Mondrian 2.2RC1 also contains enhancements designed to improve performance and scalability, and deliver optimal performance across a wide variety of production configurations. These enhancements include improvements for handling large dimensions in Oracle databases, and SQL optimizations for the MySQL database.

Pentaho Sites Continue to Improve: New Web Sites For Mondrian, JFreeReport and Kettle

The Pentaho web team is pleased to announce the launch of updated web site navigation and branding for several of our projects - Mondrian, JFreeReport, and Kettle!

By moving to one common navigation for these projects, we hope to help our community jump from project to project more seamlessly. Over time you will also notice the organization of content within each project more closely align, making it even easier to find content where you would expect to see it.

Our goal is to provide an environment that makes communicating with the Pentaho team and contributing to the Pentaho projects compelling, comfortable and fun! The new home pages are one step toward offering integrated, scalable, full-featured web tools to the communities that support the Pentaho projects.

The Pentaho web team has been busy over the past few months making improvements to the Pentaho web site, both for looks and for performance. The team managed to move the entire web site to a faster, more secure, more stream-lined architecture with virtually no loss of site availability in September. The new web sites for Mondrian, JFreeReport and Kettle are a major milestone for October.

Use the following links to bookmark the new web sites, and remember to update your old bookmarks that have changed!
