Mondrian to implement the JOLAP specification

JOLAP, the long-awaited J2EE API for access to OLAP servers (http://www.jcp.org/jsr/detail/69.jsp), is approaching its public review stage. Mondrian is ideally placed to become the first, and leading, JOLAP implementation, so let's go for it!

We will be holding an open discussion on the implementation options, then start assigning tasks to developers, with the aim of making the first release by the end of the year. If you would like to take part in the discussion, please join the mondrian-users mailing list.

We are also recruiting. If you are a talented Java programmer with experience writing high-quality server-side code, especially relating to databases and metadata, please email mondrian-devel@lists.sourceforge.net, or look out for job-postings. For everything else, there is http://sourceforge.net/projects/mondrian.
