The routine is expecting header "Content-Length" but
code at line 31 defines it with lower case lenght:

public static final String CL = "Content-length";

I wonder if it has anything to do with my env? Win2000
+ Sun JDK 1.4.2_04?

    Jep, it works with JDK 1.3.1_12 (I had the same problem
    with 1.4.2).

    According to rfc2616 section 4.2 "Field names are case-
    insensitive". In this case the code should store keys in say
    lower case in the headers map in HttpHeaders class and
    HttpHeaders.getHeader should convert the key to the same
    case.

    The bug is fixed and checked in CVS. The fix will be available with the
    next release (available shortly).
