Beta testing is finished, and MOFO Linux 4.0 is released! Uploading to SourceForge is in progress, and should be complete by 2000 UTC, 09/01/2015. For faster downloads get it via bit torrent at Linuxtracker.
EDIT: version 4.0b2 is uploaded and available. Testing is in progress for 4.0_final.
Version 4.0 Beta 2 was saved a bit earlier than expected, so here it is. It replaces 4.0b1 here on SourceForge, and indeed runs smoothly. SoftEther scripts will be further delayed, though, due to issues with the mirror sites. Bitmask, I2P, and the Tor Browser run beautifully!

The new Ubuntu base is great for MOFO Linux! There are some minor bugs in 4.0b1; expect 4.0 final in
about a week.
After way too much trouble with dependencies and configuration issues for the crypto software on MOFO Linux, I have decided to base the distro on Ubuntu. Getting things to "just work" is so much easier!
Testing on 15.04 has yielded great results, and I ask, "wtf - why isn't MOFO already here"? Expect a fresh upload by mid month, with VPNs that work without having to do it all manually in the terminal.
What? Another beta version?
Yes... The good news is some of the applications have been updated. Bitmask, L2TP/IPSec, and automated SoftEther are not fully working. Manually connecting to SoftEther servers works. Tor and I2P are working great.
The bad news is that it will take more time to finish up the automated crypto functons. No worries, mates! We are indeed making strong censorship circumvention usable by even the least skilled among us.... read more
I decided to release the latest beta of MOFO Linux v3.0 since the tools work. Enjoy this; stand by for version 3.0 final.
OpenVPN is easy, and so are Tor, I2P, and Olive.
Softether is okay when used from the command line. For the final release, it will work 100% automatically from the Internet Security Tools app.
Popcorn-Time is the cat's meow for streaming movies across the GFW.
Before releasing a beta version of the system, I want to fix a thorny issue with Bitmask encrypted internet and also the helper scripts supporting SoftEther and L2TP/IPSec VPN client connections.
It sometimes feels like an uphill battle, configuring SoftEther for desktop clients in an ecosystem oriented towards servers.
